How therapy can help

Individual counselling and psychotherapy for adults

Bluemind counselling and psychotherapy service specialises in (but not limited to) bereavement and grief counselling.

Grief is complex and highly individual process that occurs with a loss. Whether death-related loss (losing a dear human being or beloved pet) or non-death related interpersonal loss (losing physical or mental ability, ending a relationship, losing a human right or certainty in the future).  A loss can take many shapes and it can activate mourning, fearfulness or past wounds in us.

On the one hand, someone who has been losing a family member to a life-limiting condition may be faced with cumulative, prolonged or anticipatory grief, which lacks closure. On the other hand, someone who has experienced a sudden or unexpected death in their life may be in need of early grief interventions to manage shock and disbelief.

Sometimes we can't talk to the close people around us about what our pain and loss feel like, sometimes, confiding in a professional can help. Bluemind counselling can play an important role in supporting you meet each emotion with kindness not judgement, with patience not dismissal.  A relational space of empathy and impartialness, with the hope you could bring your whole-self - your inherent wisdom as well as struggles – all of which have many ways of guiding us towards what is important to you.

Offering in-person or video sessions, short-term or longer term support (open-ended) depending on your needs. Please reach out to book a free initial 20-minute consultation.

"To live in this world you must be able to do three things to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go”

- Mary Oliver, excerpt from poem In Blackwater Woods.
